The Privy
The Privy started out life as a..privy. In a barn in the hills of New Hampshire, an outhouse lived in the corner for years, until the owner decided to remake the space. The outhouse was gutted, and a the sauna framed in its place.

A few pieces from the original outhouse were saved and used in the build. The triple pooper bench now serves as the bench in the changing area. And the original door has been refurbished, and the distinctive half moon serves as the air outlet for the sauna. The original window was saved as well and now provides light for the sauna.
The sauna has a vapor barrier which helps keep the moisture in (which you want) and acts as a faraday cage, preventing cell phone, wireless and bluetooth signals. This combination results in an ideal unplugged experience.

The sauna is powered by a Harvia electric heater and has benches at two different heights, for sauna goers with different heat tolerances.

The sauna has a couple of custom features just for this build. It boasts a starry night sky in the ceiling for lighting. And it has angled back wall to make sitting on the upper bench, sublime.
